The HSA reminds outdoor workers and employers that sun protection is vital during summer months and employers have a legal and moral obligation to safeguard the health of their employees.
Employers – complete risk assessments, provide training programs, provide protective clothing, supply sunscreen, schedule adjustments whenever possible, provide shaded areas and encourage regular breaks to reduce prolonged sun exposure.
Employees: wearing protective gear, always use sunscreen, take advantage of shaded areas during breaks and lunchtime and stay hydrated!
