#EuropeanWeek for Safety and Health at Work is drawing to a close and we have had a busy week working with our clients on exploring this years topic.
“Safe and healthy work in the digital age,” is all about prioritising the wellbeing of workers in the evolving workplace landscape and this year it has been chosen as a the theme for the 2023 #EuropeanWeek for Safety and Health at Work.
Over 80% of workplaces across Europe use personal computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones and other mobile devices and 17% of workers worked mostly from home in 2022. 75% of EU workplaces carry out risk assessments on a regular basis but only 31% of organisations allowing remote work practices includes the employees at home workstation in those risk assessments.
We have been working closely with our clients for more than 3 years now directly completing risk-assessments and setting up digital and face-to-face campaigns that are aimed towards remote workers. Through these campaigns we have been successful in raising awareness about the importance of identifying risks most commonly associated with digital technologies such as time pressure, long/irregular working hours, poor communication/cooperation, job insecurity and working together towards improving the safe and healthy work environment. Organisations who adopt good practices and strong systems are able to see improvements within a very short space of time.
