June 5th is World Environment Day—a time to reflect on how our daily choices impact the world around us. While big environmental challenges can feel overwhelming, many of the solutions start with simple, consistent actions in our own communities, homes, and workplaces.
At the office, we’ve taken a practical approach to being more environmentally conscious. It’s not about being perfect—it’s about making small changes that are easy to maintain and actually make a difference over time. Here are a few things we’ve implemented:
- We use reusable tote bags instead of single-use plastic ones (Modig branded of course).
- We aim to recycle as much as possible, keeping waste out of landfill where we can.
- Wherever possible, we reuse items like filing pockets, stationary, and folders rather than replacing them.
- We use recycled paper and avoid printing unless it’s truly necessary along with making a conscious effort to purchase eco-friendly office supplies.
- Our office lighting uses energy-efficient bulbs, helping us cut down on electricity use.
These are easy changes, but they’ve made a noticeable difference over time even spilling over into our personal lives where the habit of recycling and choosing sustainable and reusable options has become common place. On World Environment Day, it’s worth taking a look around and asking—what simple improvements could make your workspace a little more efficient and environmentally friendly?
